Fog Cannons

AQCSA has in its portfolio cannons with different horizontal ranges ranging from 14 to 160 meters (without wind). The more compact and easy-to-handle cannons can be used on small construction sites, while the larger, fully automatic cannons are ideal for large outdoor areas.

POSITIONING

In the case of an initial pilot project, before the equipment is installed, a dimensioning is carried out based on engineering judgments and wind direction and speed (wind rose). The objective is to define a position for the cannon in which it will cover the main wind direction over the affected area, achieving efficient abatement of particulate matter (dust) emissions.

For a project with permanent installation, the positioning will depend on the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling, for multiphysics simulation of the fluids, aiming to evaluate the different ranges of the equipment (including positioning), as well as the behavior of emissions within the area of interest.

STRUCTURE

To install the cannons, there must be power or a generator and pressurized water at the installation points. The cannons are configured to receive power from 380V to 440V, consuming up to 70 liters of water per minute, when pressurized at 4 bar.

The cannons can be placed at ground level, or on an elevated structure that can support their weight. The power, water and structure supply can be provided by ACSA or by the client itself.

INSTALLATION AND TRAINING

If the client is interested, AQCSA provides a technical team to monitor the system assembly process and provide training for the company’s employees who will operate the cannon. The technician is available for a few days with the operators to answer questions and provide assistance with whatever is necessary. In addition, AQCSA provides remote support during business hours throughout the project period.
